Hello! I’m Kirsty O’Rourke!
I’ve been having Bowen treatments myself since 2008 and decided in January 2017 to start training as a Bowen therapist. I completed my BowTech Certificate IV in Bowen Therapy in February 2018 after completing 6 months of practical training and the accompanying anatomy & physiology assessments.
As I was thirsty to learn another therapy that would benefit my development as a therapist, I also started learning EMMETT technique that can be used in conjunction with Bowen therapy or by itself. After 10 months of practical training I achieved Full Practitioner level in EMMETT Technique in May 2018.
There is still more to learn, but now I am aiming to consolidate my skills to develop and deliver excellent treatment in my practice.
Life Before Bowen
I’ve been a Teacher Librarian for the past 20 years at St Kevin’s school in Dee Why enlightening children’s lives with a love of literature. I retired from teaching in July 2019 and now operate my clinic full time.
Learning has always been a part of my life. I believe in life-long learning and my new career as a Bowen therapist encourages me to continue with my education in the health and wellness field.
On a personal note, I have been happily married to Brian for 36 years and am the very proud mother of three fabulous sons who continue supporting me through this new journey.
