Hello! I’m Kirsty O’Rourke!
I was introduced to Bowen Therapy in 2012 and loved how I felt afterwards. Totally relaxed but energised. Body pain and aches had reduced , so I continued to have regular Bowen treatments. I realised how powerful this therapy was and how it was so effective in treating all types of conditions. I wanted to know more about this wonderful therapy. My Bowen therapist Sonia, encouraged me to learn Bowen Therapy.
I decided in January 2017 to start training as a Bowen therapist. By August I had completed 6 months of practical training and was awarded the BTA Certificate IV in Bowen Therapy in 2018. This required 12 months of online anatomy and physiology assessments.
I continued along the learning pathway and completed practitioner levels in EMMETT technique and Neurostructural Integration Technique(NST) Pronto Plus.
I am also qualified to deliver Reiki and Jaw Reset. I have received professional development in the specialty of pre-natal care, newborns and new mothers who benefit greatly from receiving Bowen Therapy.
There is always more to learn and I will continue to fine tune my skills to deliver complete and excellent treatment in my practice.
Life Before Bowen
I retired from teaching in July 2019 and now operate my clinic full time from my Freshwater home and at Chi Remedial Therapies Clinic at Neutral Bay . I had been a Teacher Librarian for 20 years at St Kevin’s school in Dee Why, enlightening children’s lives with a love of literature.
Learning continues to be a part of my life. I believe in life-long learning and my new career as a Bowen therapist encourages me to continue with my self education in the health and wellness field.
On a personal note, I have been happily married to Brian for nearly 40 years. I am a grandmother and the very proud mother of three fabulous sons who continue to support me through this new journey.
